The Dr. James A. Ferguson Emerging Infectious Disease Fellowship Program provides educational and experiential opportunities for racial and ethnic minority medical, dental, pharmacy, veterinary, and public health graduate students in a broad array of public health activities. Native American Graduate Fellowships in Resource Management

Any qualified Native American or Native Alaskan with a Bachelor's Degree is eligible to apply for a Graduate Fellowship. The Congressional Budget Office's (CBO's) economic policy fellowships establish a vital link between the research community and the agency. CBO provides the Congress with objective, timely, nonpartisan analyses to assist economic and budgetary decisions and with the information and estimates required for the Congressional budget process. That subject matter demands a broad reach because it reflects the wide array of activities that the federal budget covers and the major role that the budget plays in the U.S. economy.

Fellowships can provide experienced economists with a unique opportunity to address complex budgetary and economic policy issues. CBO is especially looking for people specializing in macroeconomics, health economics, financial economics, and public finance but welcomes applications from economists working in other areas. The Edmond J. Safra Foundation Center for Ethics encourages teaching and research about ethical issues in public life and the professions. Its graduate fellowships support outstanding Harvard-enrolled graduate students who are writing dissertations or engaged in major research on topics in practical ethics, especially ethical issues in business, education, government, law, and medicine. Pre-Doctorial Dissertation Fellowship in American Indian Studies

The American Indian Studies Program of Michigan State University invites applications for the Pre-Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Award in American Indian Studies.

The fellowship award provides office space, access to Michigan State University's outstanding library and computing facilities and to the faculty involved in the American Indian Studies Program, benefits for the year, and a substantial stipend.

Applicants must be finished with all doctoral work but the dissertation, actively working in American Indian Studies, and committed to a career in Native Studies. It is expected that the Fellow will complete the dissertation during the award year. Applicants may be pursuing the Ph.D. degree in any discipline or area offered at Michigan State University.

The successful applicant will be required to teach one course and will affiliate with a department or program in one of the university's colleges, as well as participate in activities of the American Indian Studies Program. NM-AGEP Fellowship

The New Mexico Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (NM-AGEP) is an alliance of the three New Mexico doctoral-granting institutions: New Mexico Tech, New Mexico State University, and the University of New Mexico and is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

North Carolina Native American Incentive Grant

The State of North Carolina offers the Native American Incentive Fellowship as one mechanism to increase the number of minorities engaged in doctoral study within the UNC system. Recipients must be 1) Native Americans who maintain cultural identification as Native Americans through membership in an Indian tribe recognized by the State of North Carolina or by the federal government or through tribal affiliation or community recognition; 2) resident of North Carolina for tuition purposes; and 3) pursuing a doctoral degree. The Pennsylvania State University - American Indian Leadership Program

Penn State is offering graduate fellowships to American Indian and Alaskan Native students interested in doctoral-level training in Special Education or Educational Leadership. The program is affiliated with Penn State's nationally recognized American Indian Leadership Program. The fellowships are supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

The purpose of the program is to prepare American Indian/Alaskan Natives to be leaders in special education by completing doctoral degree programs in either Special Education or Educational Leadership. Focus will be on special education, educational leadership, policy, and Indian education.

Participants who complete the program will receive a Ph.D. in Special Education or Educational Leadership. Program graduates will be qualified to assume leadership positions in schools, tribes, colleges and universities, or professional organizations that provide special education services to American Indians/Alaskan Native people.

The fellowship includes a monthly stipend of approximately $1000 per month, tuition, textbooks, and relocation allowances.

The Ann Plato Fellowship

The Ann Plato Fellowship, named for a 19th-century African-American poet, essayist, and teacher, supports a doctoral student who is an American citizen and is engaged in writing his or her dissertation.

Applicants from historically underrepresented groups, including African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and US Latinos, are especially encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates working in fields currently supported by the College. The Fellow enjoys faculty status, delivers a formal, public lecture in the fall semester, and teaches one course in the spring semester. The fellow is expected to be in residence during the fellowship tenure and to become engaged in the Trinity College community.

The Fellowship provides a $32,000 stipend; a campus apartment; an office; use of a computer; library privileges at Trinity, including the Watkinson Library, and our consortial colleges, and ready access to Hartford-area archives, including the Connecticut Historical Society, the Wadsworth Atheneum, the state library, the Cities Data Center, and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center. The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars supports research in the social sciences and humanities.
