ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) is proud to announce the launch of its new, updated website at www.aigcs.org.
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, AIGC is the largest national provider of scholarships for American Indian and Alaskan Native graduate students. Additionally, AIGC Scholars is the American Indian/Alaska Native partner to the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program.
AIGC works to improve cultural and economic wellbeing for individuals and tribes through graduate education. When Native students pursue advanced degrees, tribes benefit by obtaining educated professionals who become leaders, and the nation as a whole benefits as well. Such people are necessary to build self-sufficient communities and truly exercise their right to self-determination. Since its founding in 1969, AIGC has supported more than 12,000 graduate students in all fields of study. As a non-profit organization, AIGC prides itself on directing minimal funds into administrative costs: over 90% of all contributions go directly to scholarships and student services.
