Haas Center for Public Service – Alternative Spring Break Co-Leader (Rewiring the ‘Electric Brain’: Exploring the Role of Tech in Language Revitalization)
Siyo! My name is Constance Owl, I’m currently a senior at Stanford University studying Native American Studies with a minor in History.This year I am one of the Co-Chairs for our 47th annual Stanford Powwow, as well as student staff at the Stanford Native American Cultural Center. I’ve also had the amazing opportunity to co-lead an Alternative Spring Break about tech and language revitalization that will be bringing 14 Stanford students back home to my reservation in North Carolina for a week in march to explore and engage with revitalization efforts there. After graduation I plan to continue my work in History scholarship and language revitalization on the graduate level, and eventually return home to support/create language revitalization tools and programs for my community.
