All Native American High School Academic Team
Deadline: May 22, 2020
American Indian Graduate Center All Native American High School Academic Team (ANAHSAT) honors ten American Indian and Alaska Native high school students. The key element, to be given most weight by the judges, will be a student’s outstanding original academic, artistic or leadership endeavor. The judges will be influenced by the student’s ability to describe that outstanding endeavor in his or her own words. Teachers or community members nominate applicants. Criteria for the Team were developed in consultation with American Indian Graduate Center’s staff, board and organizational goals.
Students will be honored in their local press and in The American Indian Graduate, American Indian Graduate Center’s biannual magazine. Additionally, American Indian Graduate Center will present students with a certificate of honor.
The All Native American High School Academic Team program was created by American Indian Graduate Center and is currently maintained with private funds.
Students must either be an enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe or Alaska Native group, or provide documentation of ancestry to possession of one-fourth degree Indian blood of a federally recognized Tribe.
Applicants must also be full-time high school seniors enrolled in an accredited high school. They must complete the online application by the deadline to be considered.
