Sara Lindsey Barfield is a current Junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the Lumbee tribe and is originally from Fairmont, North Carolina.   Sara was the Valedictorian of the Fairmont High School Class of 2015. She is currently the treasurer of both the Carolina Indian Circle and the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Pi Omega Sorority, Inc at UNC-Chapel Hill. Sara is also a biology major and plans to apply to Physical Therapy school in the Fall of 2018. Her dream is to become a pediatric physical therapist in a hospital.
